FCC commissioner, Tor reacts to suspension by Enugu APC

Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission, FCC, Mrs Ginika Tor, has reacted to her suspension by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu.

Her suspension was recently ratified by the southeast zonal executive committee of the APC chaired by Ijeomah Arodiogbu.

Tor was accused of gross misconduct, anti party activities and attempting to create a parallel executive of the party in Enugu State.

Speaking on TVC live program monitored by DAILY POST on Wednesday night, she maintained that the party officials who instigated and carried out the purported suspension on her lacked the moral right to do so, describing the action as null and void.

According to her, “Those who are giving me suspension as they put, do not have that right. As far as I am concerned, it is null and void. The reason being that I never received any letter of suspension from my local ward. I never received any letter of suspension from this same southeast zonal chairman or party.

“I saw it only on the news that they suspended a woman who the whole world can attest to the fact that she remains resolute in the fight for APC.”

Asked to react to the allegation of operating a parallel structure of the APC in Enugu State, she said, “I did not create any APC factional leadership in Enugu State. What I had is what they called Rescue APC Enugu State. And as far as I am concerned Enugu APC is moribund. It is as good as dead.

“What have we achieved in Enugu State? And for the four thousand plus votes that APC got in the last election, those are votes from me and my team, and also from those whom they called our leaders and were sent away from the party.

“Ugochukwu Agballah being the Enugu APC chairman was imposed on us. He was never our member. He didn’t build APC with us. He was sent from nowhere to destroy the party in Enugu. He said he’s the party chairman, he doesn’t even have a councilor.

“So, We need to get our party back. That is why we need to have a force that we ask our party to come back. So, it is not a factional party leadership, it is a movement. And I’m saying it again and again that I have a movement structure that is going to take back our party in Enugu State.

“Agballah came into APC and destroyed the party. He chased away all the leaders who set up this structure of APC in Enugu which i am one of them. I have my proof where I voted and supported Ashiwaju during campaigns held in 36 states. Please, can they bring their own.

“When Uchenna Nnaji, the present minister from Enugu when he was contesting for governor, he never mentioned Ashiwaju in any of his campaign outings. None of his posters has Ashiwaju’s picture.

“So, the purported suspension is null and void. Because there was no disciplinary committee set up that I attended. They denied me my fundamental right to fair-hearing. It’s unacceptable.”
