Fans played crucial role in title success — Rangers captain Nwaodu

Rangers captain Chukwudi Nwodu has revealed that the club’s supporters played a key role in their title success.

Nwodu said that the fans stood by the team throughout the difficult times of the season.

He added that the team’s return to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu also played a crucial role in their successful campaign.

DAILY POST recalls that Rangers played the first half of the NPFL season at the Awka City Stadium in Anambra.

“The return of the team back to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium was very helpful to us in winning the league title,” Nwodu told the club’s media.

“You can’t take the elements of fans away from football; though we had a philosophy of ‘everywhere is home’ despite us playing in Awka, I want to specify that our fans played a big role.

“Because playing and watching them cheer you up during difficult times is a big morale booster, which helped our campaign.”

Rangers garnered 67 points from 37 games to win their eighth NPFL title in history.

The Flying Antelopes will battle with Gombe United in their final game of the season this weekend.
