Ex Army Chief hails RIVERS Governor on fight against Godfatherism

A former Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Rivers State Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF),Lt Gen Kenneth Minimah (rtd) CFR has congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, Amaopusenibo Sim Fubara for rescuing the state from the hand of Godfatherism and instituting a new order.

The army chief made the remark in Abuja while reacting to issues trending in his home state.

Recall that Rivers State has been in the news since after moves by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the sitting Governor Fubara resulted in turbulence in the state on Monday, October 30,2023.

The governor’s loyalists stormed the House of Assembly complex in protest against the plot, which resulted to drama and has caused a national scene.

Some have accused the immediate past Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike of being behind the crisis in the state, having failed to teleguide Governor Fubara.

However, the Ex Chief of Army Staff,Lt Gen Kenneth Minimah, who served in office between January 2014 – July 2015 hailed the freedom move by Gov. Fubara.

He urged Governor Sim to free himself from the shackles of Godfatherism and embrace the challenge of leadership, to lead Rivers State to the promise land.
