Portugal and AC Milan winger, Rafael Leao has sent an inspiring message for Joao Felix.
Felix missed his penalty during the shootout in their Euro 2024 quarter-final shootout against France on Friday.
France ran away 5-4 winners to set up a semifinal clash with Spain who earlier eliminated the host nation, Germany from the competition.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder was the only Portugal player to miss a penalty, while France scored all five of theirs.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Leao said “Learning. It’s a learning experience. It will help you grow. I want to say a few words to Joao Felix, who brings different things that football doesn’t have.
“Despite having a bad episode, he’s an incredible talent and will bounce back.”
“Penalties are a lottery. Whoever was there had personality, you can’t point fingers, they had a bad day, it will hurt, but you have to look at it as a learning experience and respond because it will help us in the future.” he added.
