EPL: You’ve made a mistake – Tony Adams blames Arsenal for selling World Cup winner

Arsenal legend, Tony Adams has blamed the club for selling World Cup holder, Emi Martinez.

The Argentina International has risen to become one of the best goalkeepers in the World, helping his country to win the 2022 World Cup and Copa America.

He was also instrumental as Aston Villa claimed the UEFA Conference League trophy 2 years ago.

Adams said the Gunners made a mistake selling the Argentine goalkeeper in 2020.

The shotstopper helped the Gunners win their very last trophy, the FA Cup, before being sold to Aston Villa for £20 million.

Arsenal have gone from strength to strength since Martinez moved to Villa, becoming one of the best teams in England.

Adams, however, believes that the north London side made one mistake.

He told Sky Sports, “I liked Martinez to be honest with you. I thought he was a perfectly great goalkeeper, but Arteta isn’t afraid to make a decision.”

The North Londoners recently brought in Brentford shot-stopper David Raya on loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
