The Premier League’s record for yellow cards in a single game was broken during Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Referee Anthony Taylor booked 14 different players during the match at the Vitality Stadium.

Taylor showed 14 yellow cards for 25 fouls between both teams – most of them for dissent.

Bournemouth were also awarded a penalty in the first half, leading to a yellow for Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, while both managers were also booked, although those do not count towards the record.

The previous record of 13 bookings came last season in Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United, which saw Ange Postecoglou’s side score two goals in second-half stoppage time to record a dramatic victory.
