Manchester United defender, Raphael Varane doesn’t want to leave the Red Devils in the January transfer window but wants to fight for his place at the club.
Manchester Evening News reports that Varane has shown no desire to leave Old Trafford in the mid-season window and will only change that stance if Man United tell him he is no longer wanted.
The Frenchman has started just one of Man United’s last eleven games with Harry Maguire primarily taking his place in the team’s starting XI.
Man United manager Erik ten Hag has been reluctant to pair Varane and Maguire together at the heart of defence with the Dutchman selecting Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof ahead of the former Real Madrid star.
Varane’s lack of game time has raised questions over his future at United.
Reports recently suggested that his relationship with Ten Hag is under strain, adding that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation ahead of the January window.
The 30-year-old has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL).
Varane joined the Premier League giants from Real Madrid in 2021.
He formed a formidable partnership with Lisandro Martinez last season.
But both defenders struggled for form and fitness at the start of this season.
