Manchester United manager, Eril ten Hag, has claimed Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford were not fully fit for the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday.
Rashford opened the scoring at the Etihad, before goals from Phil Foden (twice) and Erling Haaland saw the Premier League champions take maximum points.
After the game, Ten Hag told Sky Sports: “We had two players on the pitch who were not 100% [fit].
“Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford, but they gave everything like the whole team and we are disappointed with the score.”
Rashford and Evans were taken off in the second half and Ten Hag added: “I don’t know, they had to come off, but I preferred to keep them [Rashford and Evans] on as the organisation was very good.”
United remain sixth on the Premier League table with 44 points from 27 fixtures.
