Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou has singled out Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard as important players ahead of both teams’ Premier League London derby on Sunday.
Postecoglou however warned his players that they have to focus on their performances because Arsenal are not reliant on both Rice and Odegaard, who are all set to miss the encounter.
Rice will not feature for Mikel Arteta’s side against Spurs due to suspension, while Odegaard is a major doubt after sustaining an ankle injury whilst on international duty with Norway few days ago.
Speaking ahead of the tie, Postecoglou noted that the Gunners have quality in their squad.
“God, that’s a hell of a trap to fall into, if you think they [Arsenal] are reliant on two players,” Postecoglou said when asked about the possibility of Arsenal playing without Rice and Odegaard.
“Two important players, but we were missing key players last year as well and we still managed to give significant performances.
“A team like Arsenal have been very, very consistent over the last two years and can fill whatever gaps they have. They have quality in their squad. The key for us is to focus on our performance.”
