EPL: Ten Hag: Manchester United hold talks with two managers

Manchester United are reportedly considering discussions with Brentford’s Thomas Frank and former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino as the future of current boss Erik ten Hag hangs in the balance after a lacklustre season.

The Red Devils finished a disappointing eighth in the Premier League, their worst finish in the Premiership era, suffering 14 defeats.

However, they capped off the season with a surprising 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo gave United a 2-0 halftime lead.

Despite a late goal from City’s Jeremy Doku, United secured their first FA Cup in eight years, marking their 13th overall, and delivering Ten Hag’s second consecutive trophy-winning season.

However, this success may not be enough to secure Ten Hag’s position, as new minority owners INEOS are keen on restructuring the club to restore its elite status.

According to UtdPlug (via Telegraph Ducker), United have engaged in talks with Frank and Pochettino as potential replacements.

Frank successfully steered Brentford away from relegation, while Pochettino guided Chelsea to a respectable sixth-place finish, ending the season with five consecutive league victories.
