Southampton manager Russell Martin has confirmed Paul Onuachu has returned for pre-season training amid reports linking him with a move away from the club.
Onuachu scored 17 goals in 25 appearances during his loan stint at Turkish club Trabzonspor last season.
The Nigeria international has only played 11 games for the Saints since signing in January 2023, when Nathan Jones was the manager.
Martin revealed that a permanent exit looks likely this summer.
“Paul is back now with us after a bit of an extended break,” Martin was quoted by the Southampton Echo.
“He had a brilliant season in Turkey, at a club that has a lot of affection for him now. So, we’ll have to wait and see.”
