EPL: Iwobi moves to fourth position on Nigeria’s highest capped list

Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi has surpassed John Mikel Obi to become the fourth-highest capped Nigerian player in Premier League history.

Iwobi was previously tied on 249 with former Chelsea midfielder, Mikel.

The 27-year-old made his 250th Premier League appearance in Fulham’s 1-1 home draw against Crystal Palace at the Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The former Arsenal player was in action for 90 minutes in the game.

Iwobi will now set his sights on displacing Yakubu Aiyegbeni in third position.

Aiyegbeni currently occupy third position with 252 appearances.

Former Newcastle United forward, Shola Ameobi tops the chart with 298, while Nwankwo Kanu is second with 273.
