EPL: He didn’t do enough – Gary Neville blames Man Utd star for Foden’s goal

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has blamed Victor Lindelof after Phil Foden’s stunning equaliser in Manchester City’s Premier League 3-1 win over the Red Devils on Sunday.

Neville claimed the defender ‘didn’t do enough’ in the build-up to Foden’s goal.

Man City defeated Man United at the Etihad, thanks to Foden’s brace and a goal from Erling Haaland.

Marcus Rashford did score a goal for Erik ten Hag’s side during the encounter.

However, Lindelof, who played as left-back in the absence of Luke Shaw, failed to get near Foden after Rodri found his team-mate from the centre of the pitch.

The Swede was duly punished for his lacklustre defending against the England international.

“We have seen two special goals at that end of the pitch,” Neville said on Sky Sports’ commentary of Foden’s emphatic leveller.

“Manchester United are asking for a foul on Rashford. Lindelof doesn’t do enough.

“He allows Foden to come inside but he doesn’t expect he is going to ram it into the top corner.
