Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has hailed Curtis Jones for ‘controlling’ Chelsea’s Cole Palmer during both teams’ Premier League tie on Sunday.
Jones scored the winning goal for Liverpool as they defeated Chelsea 2-1 at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah and Nicholas Jackson also scored during the encounter.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Slot reserved special praise for Jones, insisting that he successfully kept Palmer, who has been impressive this season, quiet.
“He was very good. Very good individual performance. I think the whole team worked very hard,” Slot told Sky Sports.
“Curtis had a difficult job, he had to control Cole Palmer, which is not easy because this player has some quality.
He added, “It’s a team effort but Curtis was mostly responsible for that.
“He did that really well and he added some really important moments to it.”
