Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said Phil Foden is “a serious contender” for the Premier League Player of the Year award.
Foden scored a hat-trick in midweek, as City saw off Aston Villa 4-1 at the Etihad.
The goals took his tally for this campaign to 21 in all competitions.
Foden now has three Premier League hat-tricks to his name, having previously taken home match balls against Manchester United in October 2022 and Brentford just a few weeks ago in February.
“I think Foden can be a serious contender for PL Player of the Season.
“Many, many players have played really good this season. But I think he can be a contender, for sure; for the numbers, consistency, level of his game,” Guardiola said.
