Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has called on his team to prepare for every eventuality as they head to Anfield for a crucial match against Liverpool on Sunday.
The reigning Premier League champions could take a major step towards retaining their crown with a win, but Guardiola expects a challenging atmosphere and pressure to affect the game.
Despite this, Guardiola believes his players should perform better and focus on what they can control.
“We have to overcome these situations and to do the peak achievement, of trying to fight for the fourth Premier League in a row, that no team have done, never ever, this is the type of challenge we have to face – overcome absolutely everything,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.
He also emphasized that the match is not the be-all and end-all and there will be many more games to come in the league.
Guardiola’s comments serve as a rallying cry to his team and a show of determination to overcome any challenge they might face.
