Manchester United legend Gary Neville has described Kalvin Phillips’ transfer move from Manchester City to West Ham United as a good move.
Phillips is all set to join West Ham on loan after Man City and the Hammers agreed to a deal which includes a buy option on Tuesday.
Speaking on the development, Neville told Sky Sports, “He needs to play football, that is for sure. We remember he was a major England player, someone who I think we thought would do well at Manchester City. You normally think that City don’t make mistakes in the transfer market. It’s just not worked out for him there. Obviously, they have got fantastic options in midfield.
“But West Ham losing Declan Rice, I think it’s a good move for West Ham. It’s a good move for Kalvin Phillips. I hope he can stay fit and get a lot of football before the Euros in the summer.”
Phillips joined Man City from Leeds United a few years ago.
The England midfielder is not a regular player under manager Pep Guardiola at Man City.
