Incoming Liverpool coach Arne Slot reportedly wants to secure the services of Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer as his first signing once he takes over as the Reds coach.
Slot is expected to replace Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
Klopp had, in January, announced his desire to step down at the end of the season, after which Slot is expected to pick up the baton from the German.
After coming to Anfield, HITC reports that Slot will look to sign Wieffer, who currently plays under him in the Eredivisie.
Wieffer was previously hailed by his manager as having the potential to become the ‘best in the world.’
The 24-year-old has made 42 appearances across competitions for Feyenoord, scoring six goals and providing four assists.
