EPL: De Bruyne inspires Man City to win over Newcastle as champions go second

Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne made a memorable return from injury as he inspired the Premier League champions to a 3-2 win at Newcastle United on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s men took the lead thanks to Bernardo Silva’s audacious flick.

However, the Magpies fought back to go in front, with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon producing similar finishes past Stefano Ortega.

With City losing the game at 2-1, Guardiola summoned De Bruyne from the bench.

The Belgian midfielder pulled the visitors level with a low effort, before setting up fellow substitute Oscar Bobb to grab the winner.

The result takes City up to second on 43 points, two behind leaders Liverpool.
