EPL: Date set for hearing of 115 charges against Man City

Premier League CEO Richard Masters has confirmed that a “date has been set” for the hearing into Manchester City’s Financial Fair Play, FFP, case.

Last February, City were charged with 115 breaches of the league’s financial rules, following a four-year investigation.

In a statement, the league noted they had “referred a number of alleged breaches” committed across nine different seasons dating back to the 2009/2010 campaign to an independent commission.

City have insisted they are innocent and claim they have a “comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence” that will exonerate them.

Masters was asked about the case in an appearance before the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.

“There is a date set for that proceeding; unfortunately, I can’t tell you when that is, but it is progressing.

“I can’t give any details on Man City beyond saying that a date has been set; I can’t tell you when that date is,” he said.
