Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that Chelsea snubbed the chance to sign him.
According to Aguero, in 2009, while he was still at Atletico, the Premier League club expressed an interest.
However, the interest fizzled out and the Argentine moved to City two years later.
Speaking to The Club YouTube channel, Aguero said: “After that game, maybe two months after, my agent said to me: ‘Chelsea are interested’.
“I had just three years at Atletico Madrid. I mean, I loved the Premier League, to play there, but Chelsea were never interested after. At first, yes, but then my agent said: ‘Okay, maybe not’.”
