Fulham manager Marco Silva has showered encomium on Calvin Bassey following the defender’s strong display in the home win against Arsenal at the Craven Cottage on Sunday.
Bassey was named Man of the Match after the game.
The Nigeria international was an absolute rock at the heart of Fulham’s defence during the encounter.
“What a performance. What a performance. It’s his birthday and it was a nice way to celebrate, but what a performance from him,” Silva told the club’s official website.
“He’s really growing and showing that we took the right decision when we signed a player like him, a player with great, great skills to be a top central defender in the future.”
The 24-year-old has made 15 league appearances for the Whites this season.
