Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has predicted that his team need at least 96 points to win the Premier League this season.
Arteta’s side saw their remarkable title challenge fall short last season with Manchester City sealing top spot with a five point advantage ahead of the Gunners.
However, with just eleven games played so far, Arteta has reminded his Arsenal players that the Premier League season is a marathon.
“We cannot be looking at other teams when we have played 11 games,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League tie with Burnley on Saturday.
“This a long marathon and things are going to change and momentum is going to shift. But in this league, you are going to need 96 to 100 points to win it.
“When you are going to get them is a different story, but this is the target.”
He added, “In order to do that we are going to have to play so well and win a lot of matches, more matches than this club has ever won before.”
