Enugu: Nine years after monarch’s murder, Ishienu Amofia community gets new leader

After nine-years of waiting, the people of Ishienu Amofu autonomous community, Nkerefi, in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State have finally replaced their late monarch.

DAILY POST recalls that the traditional ruler of the community, late His Royal Highness, Peter Onuoha was brutally murdered in 2013.

There has been a leadership vacuum in the community, as the people struggled over the years to come to terms with the manner their monarch was killed.

However, the jinx has finally been broken with the election of His Royal Highness, Chief Christian Ogbonnaya Agu (Eze Oha Chiri).

He emerged during a peaceful election held over the weekend by the villages that make up the Ishienu Amofu community, in line with their constitution.
