Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has requested federal assistance for the development of a cargo terminal and the completion of the International Wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
Mbah made the request while receiving questions from journalists at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.
He explained that the State Government was working with the Federal Government to ensure the completion of the cargo terminal and the international wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
According to the governor, Enugu is a safe place for investors to put their money.
Mbah, who praised Tinunu’s economic policies, stated that they are favourable to foreign direct investment (FDI).
He stated that the policy of harmonised foreign exchange rates was positively impacting Enugu’s campaign for FDI.
However, the governor stated that certain of the Federal Government’s economic initiatives, such as the elimination of fuel subsidies, were difficult on individuals in the short term.
“Mbah described those policies as bold therapies for the nation’s troubled economy and would greatly benefit the citizens ultimately.
“I commend the president because a lot of things that he is doing at the national level are also rubbing off well on us at the state level.
“Policies like the unification of the foreign exchange rate means that you are going to have a lot of FDI coming in, and we are also going to benefit from that.”
