EndBadGovernance: Your grievances noted – Speaker commends peaceful protest in Lagos

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa on Friday commended Nigerians protesting against hunger and hardship in the state for their peaceful conduct so far.

Obasa’s commendation came on Friday, the second day of the EndBadGovernance protest, in Lagos.

Recall that protesters gathered on Thursday in different parts of the country, demanding government action to check the high cost of living in Nigeria.

The protests began despite appeals by the government to the organisers to shelve the demonstrations.

Reacting to the protest, the speaker in a statement on Friday said the protesters in the state mostly carried out their actions in accordance with the law.

He commended the protesters for allowing residents to go about their activities in peace.

He said: “The conduct of protesters in the state since the nationwide protest began on Thursday is worthy of emulation.
