EndBadGovernance protest: Three governors declare curfew in states

At least three governors have declared curfew in their states, after violence broke out during the first day of the nationwide protests against hunger and bad governance in Nigeria.

Kano state governor, Abba Yusuf, is the third governor to impose curfew.

Governors Babagana Zulum of Borno and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe had earlier taken similar steps to restore calm.

Buni imposed a curfew in Potiskum, Gashua and Nguru areas of Yobe..

Yusuf declared a 24-hour curfew in Kano State, to “further prevent looting and vandalisation of businesses and killing of innocent citizens”.

He directed all security agencies in the state to ensure full and immediate compliance.
