End Bad Governance: No apologies for criticising Tinubu – Gov. Bala Mohammed

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has declared that he has no apologies for his criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies.

DAILY POST recalls that Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the main opposition party, had criticised the President’s policies in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance protest saying he is implementing policies that are inflicting hardship on the people.

Speaking during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday, Mohammed said as a leader with national responsibilities, it is his duty to speak out on issues that may spark controversy.

He clarified that his intention was not to offend or hurt anyone but to address the situation accurately.

He highlighted the recent protests as a wake-up call, not only for the presidency but for all levels of government.

“All of us here, as leaders—members of councils, commissioners representing local governments—are aware of the situation on the ground. You represent the people here. It’s crucial that we listen when Nigerians raise their voices against poor governance, especially in areas where expectations have not been met,” he said.

The governor pointed out that unfavourable national policies and global economic conditions have contributed to the hardships faced by the people.

However, he maintained that his criticism was constructive and intended to benefit the president, the government and the citizens of Nigeria.

“Whoever made harsh or critical remarks about me must understand that it’s the cost of leadership, and I have no apology for that. My comments were not meant to cause disaffection or insult anyone. This isn’t about partisan politics—it’s about responsibility,” he concluded.
