The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced that parts of Nasarawa State will be without power supply on Saturday ahead of the Eid el-Kabir celebration.
AEDC disclosed this in a notice through its official X handle on Friday.
The disco said the areas that will be affected include Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Town and its environs.
Accordingly, the disco said the affected areas will not have bulk electricity supply from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday due to maintenance exercises on
40MVA 3AKW TR1 at Akwanga Transmission Station by the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
“We wish to inform residents in parts of Nasarawa state, particularly around Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Town and its environs, that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be conducting a preventive maintenance exercise on 40MVA 3AKW TR1 at Akwanga Transmission Station on Saturday, 15th June 2024, between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that this maintenance activity is essential to ensure better service delivery,” AEDC stated.
The development comes as the Nigerian government declared Monday and Tuesday as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid el-Kabir.
