The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Umar Mohammed, has deployed 3,500 personnel across various strategic locations in the state for the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
He revealed that the deployment will spread across every corner of the state, with special attention to areas at high risk of criminal activities such as black spots, flash points, vulnerable targets, and places known for frequent criminal activities.
Umar further said the personnel have been assigned the critical duties of preserving peace, averting disturbances, and swiftly addressing any security issues that may emerge before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
The commandant emphasized that the corps is fully prepared to confront individuals with malicious intentions to disrupt peace and undermine law and order.
“Additionally, area commanders, divisional officers and heads of tactical units have been instructed to enforce stringent security measures and maintain continuous vigilance over all critical national assets and infrastructure within their jurisdictions,” he added.
The commandant congratulated Muslim faithful in the state on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, and encouraged residents to cooperate with the corps and report any suspicious activities in their communities.
