Ebonyi south: PDP closes case against APC

The senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, in the February 3, 2024, bye-election in Ebonyi South, Barr Silas Onu has closed his case on the ongoing petition Tribunal.

Onu had dragged the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Anthony Ani to court after his declaration by the independent National Electoral commission, INEC.

The PDP Chieftain had vowed to reclaim the mandate allegedly given to him by the people of Ebonyi South senatorial zone.

According to Onu, “We finally got our much desired BVAS and demonstrated it in the open court, and we linked all of our exhibits to my written statement on oath.

“INEC also closed their case without calling any witness. On Monday 15th July will be for the 2nd and 3rd Respondents to open their cases and possibly close on the same day.

“We are optimistic that we will succeed and rekindle hope for our people, especially in this time of despair.

“Our confidence is in the quality of the case we put through and the quality of evidence in support of our case.

“We rest all of this confidence, above all, upon the Almighty God, and we are sure that He won’t disappoint us.”
