Doma United deny players’ strike ahead Sunshine Stars clash

Doma United have denied reports their players embarked on strike on Tuesday over the non-payment of their salaries.

There were reports that the players refused to train ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League rescheduled tie against Sunshine Stars.

The players are reportedly owed two months salary by the club’s management.

“Inaccurate statements have circulated alleging that the team has refused to train due to unpaid salaries and match bonuses for the past two months,” the club said in a statement.

“All Doma United players are fully committed and focused on tomorrow’s match, which is vital for our survival in the league.

“Our management is fully aware of our financial obligations and diligently works to ensure all commitments are met.”

The Savannah Tigers are battling to escape relegation from the NPFL.

They will host Sunshine Stars at the Pantami Township Stadium on Wednesday.

Gombe club currently occupy 18th position on the log.
