Democracy Day: Stop mocking Tinubu, even Joe Biden slipped – APC chieftain tells Nigerians

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has advised Nigerians to stop mocking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over an incident that occurred at the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.

The APC chieftain declared that what happened on Wednesday could happen to anyone in the country.

DAILY POST recalls that Tinubu missed his steps while trying to board a parade vehicle during the Democracy Day celebration in Abuja.

Mumuni, in his reaction, advised citizens, especially those on social media, to stop mocking the president.

The APC chieftain, who said that such an incident could happen to anyone, urged citizens to focus on issues that can bring development to the country.

Mumuni, in a statement signed and made available to DAILY POST through his Media Aide, Rasheed Abubakar, on Wednesday, said that citizens should keep in mind that similar incidents have happened to other presidents outside Nigeria.

“What I am saying is that Nigerians spend time on issues they don’t need to worry about. There are other important issues we can focus on – issues that will bring development to the country.

“Anyone can experience it, whether strong or not; anyone can misstep. But many people are saying a lot on social media, so it has nothing to do with governance.

“What Nigerians need to focus on is governance. We need to think about how to get out of the present challenges facing the country.
