Delta Police arrest man in possession of 875 rounds of live ammunition

Operatives of Safe Delta have arrested a forty-three year, 43yr old passenger, Friday Emmanuel with eight hundred and seventy-five rounds of live cartridges concealed in a sack wrapped with pieces of clothes.

The arrest was made during a stop and search duty at the Head Bridge area of Asaba.

The suspect was arrested on the 16th of May at about 09am DAILY POST reports.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report.

He said the operatives “intercepted a white Toyota Hiace Bus with REG. NO: AYB573XC, driven by one Friday Emmanuel, a 43-year-old male suspect from Morsogar, Ethiope-West LGA, Delta State.”

Edafe said, “Upon subjecting the said vehicle to search, eight hundred and seventy-five rounds of live cartridges concealed in a sack wrapped with pieces of clothes were recovered.

“The suspect was arrested for further investigation, and the exhibit was impounded.”

He said, “Investigation is ongoing.”
