Delta NSCDC command deploys 1,100 personnel for yuletide security

To ensure a hitch-free yuletide, Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has deployed over 1,100 personnel within the state.

This was disclosed by Commandant Suleiman Jimoh, Commandant, who explained that the measure was to secure the state before, during and after the yuletide season.

He said the command under his watch has deployed personnel from its various Tactical Units & Departments, Anti-Vandal, Agro Rangers, Mines and Steel, Anti-Human Trafficking and Disaster Management Teams, and Counter Terrorism Team amongst others to collaborate with the Rapid Response Squad, RRS in securing worship centres, recreational centres, market places, malls, second Niger Bridge and all Critical Infrastructures.

He said for effective and seamless security coverage, the corps has also enhanced its inter-agency collaboration through its various joint task force teams.

Commandant Suleiman added that the deployment is in line with the resolve of the state command to ensure a peaceful environment as there will be an influx of people into the state thereby increasing economic activities and social vices.

The Delta State Commandant of the Corps added that “the command’s topmost priority is to protect lives and all Critical National Assets and Infrastructures, CNAI within and around Delta State.

Commandant Suleiman said, “as we all know, security is a collective duty, therefore I enjoin the civil populace to give the corps actionable and timely information as they are stakeholders and part of the security architecture of the state.”

The commandant reiterated the need for proactiveness in the protection of Critical National Assets And Infrastructures, CNAI of government within the state.
