Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has doled out N10m to Terem Moffi for winning a silver medal with the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Governor Otu made the donation when Bassey visited him in his office alongside his father and brother.
The state’s number one citizen commended the player for being a good ambassador of Cross River and for leading an exemplary life for the youths of the state to emulate.
The governor promised continued support for the Nice of France player, adding that his administration remained committed to youths and sports development as a way of curbing youth restiveness and creating opportunities for them.
Moffi, who was called up as a late replacement for Umar Sadiq made two appearances for the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2023 finals.
The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the competition.
The OGC Nice of France striker is in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South and Benin Republic.
