… Local Government Party Chairmen kicks.
As the buildup to the National Convention of Labour Party gets closer, Party Chairmen in the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State have written the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Lincoln Charles on a secret plan by the chairman to boycott party constitution and guidelines on how party delegates to convention are selected.
The State Chairman has been accused of planning to recruit his family members to fill up the delegate list for the convention, a move which has attracted widespread condemnation from State party members and exco.
In a letter signed by 15 Local Government Party Chairmen and addressed to the State Chairman, Comr. Lincoln Charles, the party leaders are seen calling out the state chairman to come clean on the selection of state delegates to the National Convention and steer clear from recruiting family members and friends which goes against party constitution and guidelines.
As the National Convention of Labour Party draws closer in Abia State, the state Chairman has been admonished to do the right thing by extending invitation to all Local Government Party Chairmen and Secretaries who automatically are party delegates to the convention as enshrined in the party’s constitution, rather than planning to recruit cronies.
*It is widely speculated that the move by Mr. Lincoln Charles, to enlist cronies as delegates to the convention is part of a grand plan by Julius Abure to hold on to power, as National Chairman of the party against the wish of party members and the Obidient Movement at large*
