Angbashim was killed by notorious cultists terrorising the Ahoada area of the state, led by one David Gift, popularly known as 2Baba.

Some traditional rulers in the area were subsequently arrested over their alleged connections with the said cult group.

DAILY POST reports that the accused did not take their plea following an objection to the bail application by the prosecuting counsel, SP Eniyepere Sikpi.
Justice Sika Henry-Aprioku, after listening to the arguments from both counsels, ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre and adjourned the case until November 21, 2023, for plea and bail consideration.
