CLO tackles FG, Akwa Ibom govt over delay in release of kidnapped Corp members

The Civil Liberties Organization, CLO, Akwa Ibom State has expressed reservations over efforts by the Federal and Akwa Ibom State governments to secure the release of Corps members of Akwa Ibom origin, kidnapped in Zamfara on their way to Sokoto for their orientation three months ago.

The Civil Liberties Organization raised its concerns in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Godknows Njoku, the Vice Chairman,
Eridiong Obong and the Assistant Secretary, Idorenyin Sampson.

The CLO lamented that despite the corps members being three months in captivity, the federal and Akwa Ibom State government were yet to secure the release of the victims who were on their way to serve the country.

The group insisted that the government has the capacity to secure the release of the corp members if they wish to do so.

It called on the government at all levels to expedite action on the release of the Corp members as well as improve the security architecture in the country to protect the lives and properties of Nigerian citizens and foreign nationals.
