Champions League: UEFA chief names only team to challenge Man City, Real Madrid

UEFA chief, Zvonimir Boban, believes that Inter Milan will go head-to-head with Manchester City and Real Madrid in the Champions League this season.

Boban stated this during a chat with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to him, the Serie A champions are ready to make their mark in the competition.

“The usual two are Real Madrid and Manchester City,” Boban said.

“If anyone knows how to manage stars well, it’s Carlo Ancelotti.

“To build a team, Pep (Guardiola) is unique, to manage and not complicate things, Carlo is better.”

He added, “Inter have shown they can compete with anyone, I don’t see the others at this level.”

Madrid are the current holders of the trophy, while City won it the previous year beating Inter 1-0 in the final.

From the 2024/2025 season, 36 teams will now take part in the Champions League in a single league format.
