Champions League: It’s painful — David Beckham laments Man Utd’s absence

Manchester United legend David Beckham has claimed that the club’s failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League is ‘painful.’

This season’s Champions League competition started on Tuesday.

Man United failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing outside of the top four last season.

Erik ten Hag’s side ended up qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, thanks to their FA Cup triumph.

“It is a little bit painful not seeing United there [Champions League], but they are going through something,” Beckham told CBS.

“We are too big to not be back on this stage. So at some point, we have to be.”
