Carabao Cup final: Klopp reveals what he told Liverpool players ahead of Chelsea clash

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has revealed he told his players to never take winning trophies for granted ahead of their Carabao Cup final with Chelsea.

Klopp spoke on Wednesday after Liverpool secured their place in the Carabao Cup final where they will face Chelsea on February 25 at Wembley.

This was possible after Klopp’s side defeated Fulham 3-2 on aggregate in the Carabao Cup semi-final tie last night.

The Reds held a 2-1 advantage from their semi-final first leg at Anfield and played 1-1 at Craven Cottage to ensure they booked their place in the Carabao Cup final.

The match will be a repeat of the 2022 Carabao Cup final in which Liverpool edged past Chelsea via a penalty shootout.

“It is fantastic. We had the experience before, we know what to expect,” Klopp said at his post-match interview after Liverpool qualified for the Carabao Cup final on Wednesday night.

“Again Chelsea, wow, what a story that is.

“For tonight, I told the boys you should never take for granted that you are part of a football club and team who can win trophies, that means you have to qualify for finals and we are obviously the lucky ones who are part of it,” he added.
