BUK dismisses report of kidnapping on campus

The management of Bayero University, Kano, has described reports of kidnapping in the institutions as an attempt to create fear and cause uncertainty among students and their families.

It dismissed the purported report of the security breach in the university, describing it as ‘fabricated fake news.’

In a statement by Lamara Garba, Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent, the institution is for now one of the safest places to study.

“The attention of the management of Bayero University, Kano has been drawn to a fake alarm on security breach in the campus.

“We wish to state unequivocally that, there has never been a case of kidnapping in any of the campuses of the university whatsoever. For the avoidance of doubt, the university has, for a very long time, taken all the necessary steps and measures to ensure the safety of staff and students.
