‘Bring her remains for burial’ — Gov Eno’s order on makeup artist who died in River Niger

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has ordered that the remains of the late Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Edith Frederick, be brought back to her home town for proper burial.

Abigail Edith Frederick died in the fatal boat mishap that occurred a few days ago on the River Niger while on a trip to a movie location. The tragedy also claimed the life of Nollywood actor Junior Pope. The remains of Abigail Edith Frederick, a 24-year-old graduate of Theatre Arts, were reportedly buried at the bank of the River Niger.

The Akwa Ibom governor, while commiserating with the deceased’s family in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, on Saturday, however, ordered that her body be brought back to her family for a proper and decent burial.

The statement reads: “We have also followed and read the reportage, especially on the social media platforms surrounding her burial and wish to state categorically that, the government was not informed of the circumstances that led to her burial.

“His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, has consequently directed that her body be brought back to her family for a proper and decent burial.”
