The wife of the Taraba State Governor, Mrs Agyin Kefas, has warned the public against falling prey to the antics of fraudsters using her name or office to defraud people.
The fraudsters, our reporter learned, have been moving around the state on the pretence that the Governor’s wife mandated them to source funds for a wedding.
In a press statement on Sunday, Mrs Kefas warned that neither she nor any members of her family is soliciting funds for any wedding.
“Any claims or requests for donations made in my name or in the name of any member of my family are false and should be disregarded.” The statement read.
While emphasizing her commitment to integrity and transparency, she urged the public to urgently report any suspicious fundraising solicitation in her name to the relevant authorities.
She said her office will continue to focus on her mission of serving the people of the state through various initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing the welfare and well-being of the people.
Recall that a lady was recently nabbed in the state for allegedly using the office of the First Lady to defraud the public of some amount of money.
