Benue youths block road as suspected herdsmen injure 10 in community

Youths, women and children of Antsa community in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State have blocked the UniAgric Makurdi-Gbajimba Road over attacks by suspected herdsmen.

Ten persons from the Antsa community were reportedly injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen on Monday morning.

Antsa community is located on North Bank – J.S Tarka University of Agriculture, Makurdi, busy road in Benue

The protesters blocked the ever-busy road to seek the government’s intervention.

The road also provides access for those travelling to Gbajimba in Guma Local Government Area.

As early as 7 am on Monday, youths mounted roadblocks on the busy University Community road, preventing vehicles and motorcycles from passing through.

DAILY POST gathered that the youths vowed to remain on the road until the authorities addressed them on the security challenges.
