Benue APC crisis: Anthony Adah calls for peace

Former youth leader of Benue South All Progressive Congress, APC, and Director of Operations,Alia/Ode Campaign Organization, Hon Anthony Adah, has advised party leaders to sheath their swords and embrace peace ahead of the next general elections in the state.

Hon Adah, who stated this during an interaction with journalists in Makurdi on Saturday, noted that the lingering internal crisis rocking the party in the State is getting messier and capable of affecting the well being of the party

He expressed displeasure over the polarisation of the party and called on the party leaders to put every crisis behind them in the interest of the state.

The party had been enmeshed in a deep crisis leading to the formation of a faction loyal to Governor Hyacinth Alia leading to the war of supremacy among the leaders of the party in the state.

Adah said the animosity that has bedeviled in the state is uncalled for and there was a need for the leaders to close ranks and shelve their personal interests in the overall interest of the party.

“Having one of the most prominent politicians in the country who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume as our leader and a reverend gentleman as governor our state is supposed to be a progressive and peaceful state.

“But unfortunately, there is so much animosity in the party and and lack of unity which is a cause of concern to all of us.

“I want to use this opportunity to caution all parties involved in this crisis in our party

“Recent happening suggest that if this is not nipped in the bud in time the build up to the 2027 election in the state might be bloody and unprecedented ”

He called on the Governor Alia not to discriminate against youths perceived to be “SGF Boys” as every member of the APC in the State including the governor were recruited by Sen Akume for the victory of the party.
