Nigerian forward Yira Sor has restated KRC Genk’s ambition to qualify for Championships playoffs in Belgium.
Sor came off the bench to score the decisive goal in the Smurfs 1-0 win against Sporting Charleroi on Friday night.
The 23-year-old has now scored six goals in 18 league appearances for Genk this season.
The former champions moved to fifth position on the table following the win.
Wouter Vrancken’s side have four games left to secure a spot in the Championship playoffs.
“The goal is to reach the top six. These two victories in a row are good and we look at it match by match,” Sor said after the game.
“We were dominant and had the best chances. It was a deserved win for us. That there was a lot of will power? We played well offensively, defensively too. It was a little more difficult in the first half.”
