Bayelsa United suspend kits sponsorship deal

The management of Bayelsa United has said the team will no longer use branded jerseys to execute their league matches.

The Prosperity Boys disclosed this in a statement sent to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

According to the statement, Bayelsa United ceased to use their branded jerseys pending when things would be sorted out between their sponsors Halkin Exploration and Production Limited and the state government.

DAILY POST recalls that the former Federation Cup champions over the weekend unveiled a new kit which engraved the name of its sponsor on it.

Bayelsa United will battle Rivers United in a rescheduled matchday 12 fixture at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Thursday.

The Yenagoa-based outfit returned to winning ways over the weekend ending their six-game winless run.

Bayelsa United occupy the last position on the NPFL table.
