Bauchi Emirate sacks six traditional title holders

The Bauchi Emirate Council has deposed six recently appointed traditional titleholders in the Galambi District Area.

The council cited that the turbaning process of the traditional rulers did not adhere to established guidelines.

DAILY POST recalls that the District Head of Galambi, Alh. Shehu Adamu Jumba, the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate, appointed and turbaned traditional rulers, including Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal. However, this action was not well received by the Emirate Council.

The decision to strip the traditional rulers of their titles was announced in a statement issued by Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun, the chief information officer of the Bauchi Emirate Council, during its council meeting.

The statement added that the district head has been prohibited from making such appointments for one year, starting on November 7, 2023.

He was further directed to strictly adhere to established guidelines for future turbaning processes.
